Description

Now real maple syrup, real butter, and delicious, whole wheat applesauce waffles are a common breakfast item. This trio keeps me satiated all morning long – without feeling guilty about my food choices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • ⅓ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1½ cup whole wheat flour
  • 1½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup crockpot applesauce

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  2. In a larger bowl, mix together remaining ingredients. Stir well.
  3. Slowly mix in dry ingredients.
  4. Heat the waffle iron. Once ready, scoop ½ cup of batter into the iron. Cook approximately 3-4 minutes, depending on the waffle maker and heat setting.
  5. Remove and let cool on a wire rack, or serve immediately with butter and maple syrup.
