This morning when I was trying to pry my eyelids open, I read a very interesting article. I found the following posted on my Facebook Newsfeed.
Even though Kyle might say I’m crazy, it’s finally scientifically proven I’m allowed to claim 9:00 PM as my bedtime.
Well, since that picture came from the newsfeed of a children’s clothing store, I did do a little bit of digging to find a backup article. A recent study at Duke University showed that women suffer mentally and physically if they don’t get enough sleep. Depression and blood clotting (which if severe or in the wrong place can lead to a stroke) are among the risks. What?!
I do know from experience that if I don’t get at least 6-7 hours of sleep, I’m pretty much good for nothing and feel off all day. Don’t expect to get a ‘good morning’ response out of me… because it’s just morning. This article also states that the only time length of naps one should take are 25 minutes or 90 minutes, or you’ll feel worse when you wake up. I’ve never been a napper, but for those of you who are, take note!
When I have more time, I might try to do some further digging and find out some deets from this study. For now, off to campus for another bright and early day full of productivity! (I’m so chipper because I got 8 hours of sleep last night. How about that?)
How much sleep do you typically get?
