You know those days when everything seems to go haywire? That was yesterday. Woof. One of those days where I really question why I decided to come back to graduate school and put up with research. Things go according to plan 99% of the time. But that’s the path I’m on so I’ve gotta stick to it. Hopefully it will be going my way in a couple of months, but for right now I feel like I’m at a standstill and it’s a tad frustrating. But so is life.
We picked up this bottle of Rex Goliath white last week. It was a Walmart cheapy, probably $4? I don’t remember. Strangely I can’t find the wine listed on their site, so I’m not sure if it is discontinued or not, but they have a wide selection of other varieties. This blend was very appley. Sort of sweet, but I was to say it was also sort of tart. Not sure. It wasn’t one of my favorites, but it was good enough for me to drink 3/4 of the bottle.
Last night we had a dinner of pulled pork, I served mine with a side of roasted brussels sprout. I’m not sure why I waited to long to start buying these. Love ’em!
That giant mound of meat was 4 ounces. A pretty healthy serving if you ask me. Kyle and I spent the rest of the evening watching Millionaire Matchmaker on DVR and playing Mario Kart on Wii. It was a great at-home date night, and just what I needed after a silly day of work.
Since I indulged a bit on wine last night, I told myself I would get my training run in that I missed yesterday. It was a bit of a slow start to the morning, but I fit in 3 miles that felt pretty good.
I’m starting to get my running groove back after my two week strep throat stint. Hopefully my long run this weekend treats me the same way!
Off to meetings for a few hours. Have a fabulous Friday, friends!
