This is the first day I’ve felt normal since Wednesday night. And it feels pretty good!
Remember when I told you we were going to have a house full of family? 11 people total, to be exact. Then – we got got the gift that keeps on giving. The flu.
I won’t bother you with the gory details – after all, we are here to talk about food – but let’s just say it made for an interesting week. Luckily for me, I was able to enjoy lots of time with the family before I was quarantined Christmas Eve and all of Christmas Day. I was pretty bummed – but what can ya do?
In any case, we’re pretty much back to normal around these parts for the week, beside NYE, I suppose. We’ve got a house party – or ‘gathering’ – planned. Nothing too fancy! Assuming I stay healthy, I’ll be in attendance!
Today we’ll be sorting through the fridge to find out what we need to eat for leftovers, how much of the rest of our 20 pound ham we’re going to freeze, and food prep some lunches for the week!
We also need to get ahold of Kyle’s mothers bean soup recipe. We have a ham bone in the freezer waiting for it!
