Top Moments, Recipes and Posts of 2014

2014 was a really great year. I would say that I’m surprised it’s already over…but really I’m not. It seems the norm now that years fly by! But I think that’s s good sign – time flies when you’re having fun! And enjoying life. And making memories. πŸ™‚

In total clique-blogger form, I’ve got a little recap of my favorite moments from life, recipes and posts from the blog. I say clique, but I think reviewing your year and focusing on the GREAT is a practice we should all do more often.

Honestly, I fall more and more in love with blogging every day. Seeing how much my blog has changed in the last two and a half years is kinda crazy – and seeing how many blends I’ve made from blogging is kinda crazy, too! Blogging is the ultimate networking tool. Finding like-minded individuals and building relationships is the best part of it all!

Thank you for sticking around with me through all my changes – in life and the blog. I appreciate it more than you know! Now, let’s take a little trip down memory lane for 2014.

Top Moments of 2014

There are three pretty obvious moments in my life that were not only happy moments, but huge life milestones. And a couple I threw in, just because.

1. We got married.

This one is pretty self explanatory. Our wedding was pretty great. A happy start to a happy life!


2. I graduated!

Receiving my PhD might be turning out to be more of a bucket list item than an advancing career move. But hey, it’ll get me somewhere someday. πŸ™‚

3. We bought a house!

House projects have come and gone in spurts, mostly when we decide we want to spend the money on it. We love our first home, and we are excited to continue updates through 2015!

I also promise that I will post some more updates soon!

4. I got a DSLR!

Is this considered a life changing moment? I think for a blogger, it is.


5. We added a furbeast to our family.

Also, don’t judge me that my camera ranks higher than Mia on the list…she was a pain in the ass to train. πŸ˜‰ She had an unbelievable number of bad habits from whoever owned her before. We’re still working on a lot of them, but she is much better. She also didn’t end up being as ‘free’ as I originally thought she’d be….but we love her nonetheless!

10. Mexican Ranch Dressing

Healthy salad dressings are always a must-have in my house, and this one is super easy to make! And features my start ingredient for all things ‘cream’ based – Greek yogurt.

This easily ranks one of the top recipes I remake frequently in our house. We love our Sunday pizza nights!

A good reminder that I need to make this again. I’ve been stuck on homemade peanut butter, but cashew is really my favorite!

3. Baked Mac ‘n Cheese

One of our favorite comfort meals! This is made with REAL cheese – now that powdery processed stuff.

Ok, so this probably tops the pizza crust recipe, as far as how frequent we make it. This is made nearly every single week for food prep!
