As we enter the holiday season, we’re also entering a time when all we wanna do is hibernate.

At least, that’s what I feel like doing! I despise cold weather – it is in fact one of the reasons I left the Midwest for Texas! Even though it doesn’t snow or get super below freezing very often in Dallas, it is still too cold to want to do many activities outside.

For some people, this might mean a big change in how you get your workouts in. Outdoor runs and evening walks aren’t as easy to do in the cold and dark. Your favorite outdoor team sports are out of season. And sometimes even walking to your car to go to the gym when it’s cold and windy seems like a chore! Especially if you have to scrap snow and ice off your car – I knew about plenty of that from my days in the Midwest.

My solution is finding an at-home workout that you love! It’s easy to create a small home gym, or find workouts that don’t need any equipment at all.

One example – yoga! Yoga is also a great way to slow down your day and de-stress as we enter this crazy busy holiday season.

Plus, it never hurts to be able to sport some cute yoga outfits! I’m always looking to upgrade my workout clothes selection, and have really been wanting some new patterned leggings. Like these leopard print leggings from Target® C9 – how cute??

If you don’t want to brave the cold to head to a studio or gym, you can find some online videos! Here are 8 moves you can learn today to practice at home.

There are plenty of other bodyweight exercise circuits you can create on your own, too. If you need some ideas, here is a week’s worth of at-home workouts that require little to no equipment!

Staying fit over the holiday season isn’t just about workouts, either. It’s also about watching what we eat. Winter comfort foods and holiday favorites are often not on the top of the list of the healthiest foods we can be eating!

This holiday season, try making healthy ingredient substitutions in your favorite recipes. You can also find healthier recipe ideas for side dishes and desserts!
