Scenes From The Weekend

Kyle and I had a pretty nice anniversary weekend. Friday night we went to Derek and Kacie’s for dinner with some friends. It was a low key night for us. Most Friday’s around here are early nights!

Dinner was grilled chicken and pasta salad. Yum!
Saturday we declared our ‘date day’ for our anniversary. We ran some errands in the morning then came home for a nap before heading out for drinks and sushi.
I discovered Zenna when I went there for a friend’s birthday. They have a happy hour every day from 3 PM – 7 PM that is amazing. Super cheap drinks, but more importantly, super cheap sushi that is delicious! We each had 3 drinks while we were there, and ordered 4 rolls and our bill was under $30.
We ordered two California rolls, a Shrimp Tempura, and a Spicy Tuna. I was first skeptical of the place because it is so cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was!
To be quite honest… the first time I went to this place the service was awful. It was a bit better when Kyle and I went Saturday, but we sat at our table for 10-15 minutes before a waiter came around. After that, he was pretty attentive. For how cheap and delicious the food is though, we couldn’t complain. I just wouldn’t recommend going to happy hour there if you’re in a hurry!¬†We got back home around 5 PM, and then packed up a cooler to sit out at the pool for a couple of hours.
My sister’s came down to hang out for a little while before we called it a night! Sunday was productive for the most part. Kyle went golfing with some friends and I went grocery shopping and did a bit of food prep.
I also did some recipe testing… check back for a roasted red pepper dip this week!

Also, be sure to stop over at Olive To Run this morning! I wrote a guest post for Cori while she is out on vacation in Cali – Coffee or Tea? The Benefits for Both!
What did you do this weekend?
