Every once in a while I get a real bad itch to do something crafty. Anything crafty. I took a trip to Michael’s yesterday to get some craftiness out of my system, which is making today quite marvelous!
My intentions for heading to Michael’s were to find a frame for the picture we got in Vegas. It was made by a street artist, using all spray paint. It was pretty awesome to watch, and I think we paid $15 for the picture.
While I was there, I couldn’t help but notice that nearly everything in the store was on sale. There were a lot of decorative pieces that I really wanted to splurge on…but held back since Christmas is coming and I’m saving my money for gifts. But, I did purchase a picture frame with an idea in mind….
I got some sparkly gold ribbon and decorated the bottom of the picture frame. I’m using it as a tray for coasters and our remotes. I also came across some giant pine cones, which are perfect decorations for the fall and winter season!
I’m thinking I might try to spray paint them or decorate them with glitter. I’m also thinking about putting them in a different vase with some Christmas tree bulbs. However, I’ll have to hold off on that until next weekend, since I need to wait until after Thanksgiving to break out the Christmas garb. 🙂
A project I finished last Monday was rearranging the living room. Barkley thinks it’s quite marvelous, since he has a larger perch to look out the window now.
I’ve also gotten in some pretty marvelous workouts. On Saturday, I got in a great run with Kyle out at White Rock Lake.
Last night, Kyle and I went for an easy 30 minute run with Barkley, which was on Kyle’s training plan for the day. We went without phones, so no music or Endomondo. It was nice to have a leisurely jog and chat. I think we ended up going about 2.5 miles, then pit stopped in a field to let Barkley run out the rest of his energy.
This morning I went for another 15 minute jog with Barkley before completing a chest and triceps workout at home.
My arms were pretty shaky finishing this workout! I’ve been trying to lift heavier, and make sure that my reps are slower so I’m working harder and not using momentum to throw the weights around.
I added the cardio exercises to help shake my arms out and keep my heart rate up. For the chest press and the triceps kickbacks, I decreased my weight for the second round of reps. I made a delicious blueberry protein shake after my workout.
In this is:
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/3 cup plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/2 banana
- one scoop chocolate protein powder
- 2 ice cubes
I’m feeling a bit hungry again, so morning snack time might come around sooner than expected. 🙂
Have you started decorating for the holidays yet?
