Two things I love. Easy recipes and delicious food. This sweet snack is the perfect alternative to Grandma’s sugar loaded oatmeal cookies. They taste just like oatmeal cookies, only without any sugar added at all.
Unless, of course, you’re adding chocolate chips! I also added the end of a bag of walnut pieces. These are totally optional, or you could add your own sugar-free mix-ins like nuts or fruit. You could also try cocoa nibs!
This is my go-to recipe lately when I have semi-ripe bananas. I’ve moved out of my banana muffins phase, and I don’t make breads very often. It seems like when something is in bread form and not a muffin, I just don’t care for it as much. Weird? That’s me, I guess!
Oatmeal chocolate chip was one of my favorite cookies growing up, and I’m happy to have a healthy alternative for them! I would suggest eating them within 2-3 days, they don’t tend to stay good that long.
Banana Oatmeal Cookies
- 2 semi-ripe bananas
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional add-ins: 1/4 cup raisins, 1 tablespoon mini chocolate chips, 1/4 cup walnuts, etc.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mash bananas, and mix all ingredients together thoroughly. Form and press into cookie shapes onto a non-stick sprayed cookie sheet.
- Bake or 15-20 minutes
