40 minute incline treadmill workout

After lounging around watching a movie on Saturday afternoon, Kyle and I decided to continue our relaxing day with some reading at the pool. It was a really pretty afternoon, and enjoying some of the day outside sounded like a great idea. 

I picked up The Mazerunner and outside we went. We are oh so lucky to be able to lay poolside in April! After an hour and a half of some reading, a small nap, and admiring an unlikely visitor at the pool….
(I’m not quite sure why I was so amused with this little guy) we came back on inside. We threw out a couple of ideas for the evening, and the one that sounded most appealing was movie and pizza night. I think we needed the day of recovery after our spontaneous Friday shenanigans. I was more than okay with it. After a week of work (and a night of fun), sometimes there is nothing better than being able to say you have nothing to do! So, Pizza Hut hand-tossed super supreme pizza and Water for Elephants was our entertainment for the night. We both enjoyed the movie, even though it’s a little hard for me to envision Robert Pattinson without fangs.
Breakfast
Seeing as how we were in bed early, an alarm wasn’t necessary for a 7 AM wake up Sunday morning. I didn’t want to put much effort into making breakfast, so I went for an English muffin with peanut butter and banana. And maybe a slice of cold pizza (breakfast of champions).
The morning was pretty mellow. We had a couple errands to run, and Barkley got a new toy.
I’ve been working on a presentation for class on Tuesday, while watching the latest season of Californication with Kyle which was available via HBO On Demand. After an impromptu run to the dog park, I decided to get in a workout when we got back. 
Workout
I knew I wanted to get in a good dose of cardio, so I set out to the gym and hopped on the treadmill. I decided to do an extended version of my incline treadmill workout, and made a 40 minute incline workout instead!
This involves two fast paced intervals of inclining up to 15, along with a speed burst in the middle. It did the trick to snap me out of my lethargic mood! It felt really good after a relaxing day to sweat it out in the gym. I finished up my workout with stretching and some strength exercises, then called it a day. 
Lunch
My appetite hasn’t really been up most of the day, and I’m going to blame that one on Pizza Hut. After my workout I came back and made an egg and avocado sandwich. (I guess this is just an English muffin kinda day).
The rest of the afternoon will be spent dabbling at my presentation again, and hoping fully a little bit of reading. I’m also excited to see how dinner will turn out…when I was at the gym, Kyle threw together a crock pot mix that looks like it has extreme potential. Guess we’ll have to wait and see! 🙂
