virtual 5K

It’s been a pretty good day so far, but really it’s Friday Eve and I have weekend fever and want to go home as soon as possible. I am being fairly productive and getting some things checked off my list, so that’s all good. Lunch today was a very lovely chicken salad I put together this morning. 

I poached some chicken, shredded it, then tossed is in a seasoning mix of garlic salt, pepper, basil, oregano, and paprika. I chopped up some broccoli (for crunch!), red pepper, red onion, and green pepper on top of spinach and iceberg lettuce.
I tossed it with a small amount of ranch dressing to just cover everything. It was delish!
I saw a tweet from Healthy Living Blogs today that intrigued me….
I’ve only run 3 miles all the way through once, and my first 5K race, Friends at Katy Trail, is next Thursday. I thought, what a great reason to go out and try to run it again! So, I clicked on the link to see what was up.
The link took me over to Becoming the Odd Duck, where I was able to read all about it. It seems like a fun idea! Knowing other people are doing it kinda makes it easier to go out and do it yourself, right? I could probably use the training, plus it will help me get in more miles for the Rock ‘n Roll Challenge. You can see anyone else who is going to run this virtual 5K by searching twitter hashtag #Blend5K. Even if you go out to walk the 3.1 miles, or walk/jog, bike, etc., it’s a great motivator to get out and move this weekend!
